The Dead-Config Trap: Empty Trigger Messages

Turning a trigger's toggle on is not the same as configuring it — a trigger with an empty message sends nothing at all, with no error or warning.

Why it happens

Each automatic trigger — stamp added, reward redeemed, welcome, and win-back — has two separate settings: the on/off toggle, and the message text. Switching the toggle on prepares the trigger to fire, but if the message field is empty, the send is skipped entirely and nothing is logged as an error.

How to check

1. Open the Instant card

   Go to Notifications → Instant.

2. Check every toggled-on trigger

   For each trigger switched on, open it and confirm the message field actually has text in it.

3. Save a message for any empty one

   Write and save a message — even a short one — for every trigger you want active.

How to fix it

The fix is always the same: write and save message text for the trigger. There is no separate "activate" step beyond having both the toggle on and a saved message.

A quick habit to build

Whenever you turn on a trigger for the first time, write its message in the same sitting rather than planning to "come back to it later." The toggle looks identical whether or not a message is saved, so an empty trigger is easy to forget about for weeks while it quietly sends nothing.
