Setting Up the Welcome Message
Configure the first sign-up trigger so every new customer gets an automatic welcome message the moment they enroll.
The welcome message is the first sign-up trigger — it fires the moment a customer finishes enrolling their card.
Turning it on
- Open the Instant card
In the Notifications tab, open the Instant card.
- Toggle the welcome trigger on
This is the trigger labeled for first sign-up.
- Write and save your message
It only sends once you've saved message text — an empty message sends nothing.
Writing a good welcome message
Keep it under 100 characters and set an expectation. For example: "Welcome! You're 1 stamp away from your first reward. See you soon."
A welcome message is the first thing a new customer sees on their lock screen after enrolling, so it's worth being specific rather than generic. Naming the reward, the number of stamps needed, or a next-visit incentive gives the customer a reason to come back, instead of just confirming their card was added.
When it fires
The welcome message fires once, at the moment of enrollment — it does not repeat for the same customer, and it is separate from the win-back trigger, which only fires later if the customer goes quiet.
Next steps

Frequently asked questions
Does the welcome message fire for every enrollment channel?
It fires on first sign-up regardless of whether the customer added the card to Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, or used the web-card fallback — though delivery still depends on the customer having a reachable wallet pass.
Can I edit the welcome message after turning it on?
Yes — open the Instant card at any time and update the saved message text; the new text applies to future enrollments.
