Enrollment

Desktop and devices without a wallet

There is no separate web card in Waya — desktop shows both wallet buttons, and devices without a wallet cannot complete the add.

Waya does not have a separate 'web card' — every enrollment ends the same way, by adding the pass to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

On desktop

Waya cannot reliably tell which wallet a desktop browser's owner uses, so the enrollment page shows both the Apple Wallet and Google Wallet buttons after the form. The customer picks whichever matches their phone.

On a device without a supported wallet

If a phone or browser does not support Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, there is no fallback screen that finishes the enrollment — the add will not complete on that device. Ask the customer to open the enrollment link on a phone with Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android) installed.

This is uncommon in practice, since Apple Wallet ships with every iPhone and Google Wallet ships with the great majority of Android phones. If you run into it at your counter, the simplest fix is to have the customer reopen the link directly on their own phone rather than a shared tablet or an older device.

It is worth checking this once with a new device or browser you are unsure about — for example an older phone at the counter used for demos — before relying on it to enroll customers in front of a line.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a version of the card that works without Apple Wallet or Google Wallet?

No. Waya does not have an independent web card — every enrollment ends by adding the pass to one of those two wallets.

Why do I see two 'Add to Wallet' buttons on my computer?

Desktop browsers show both the Apple Wallet and Google Wallet buttons, because Waya cannot detect which wallet your phone uses from a desktop browser.
