Why loyalty on top of Daftra changes what your cashier does

Most Saudi shops running Daftra already record every sale as an invoice. Without an integration, the loyalty step still means a staff member stopping to scan the customer's wallet card by hand, on top of ringing up the sale in Daftra. Connect Daftra to Waya once and that extra step disappears for any invoiced sale: Waya reads the paid Daftra invoice on its own and awards the stamp, point, or cashback the customer earned, without anyone at the counter opening a second screen.

This only changes what happens after a Daftra invoice is marked paid — it doesn't touch how you invoice, price, or manage stock in Daftra itself. Waya reads Daftra's paid invoices; it writes back to Daftra in exactly two places, both covered later on this page. Everything else about how you run Daftra stays exactly as it is today.

How the Waya–Daftra connection actually works

Once connected, Waya checks Daftra automatically in the background and reads paid invoices created after the connection — never anything invoiced before you connected it. Here's the mechanic end to end:

  • Waya only reads Daftra invoices marked paid after the connection is made; nothing from your invoice history is imported.
  • Customers are matched by the phone number they used to enroll their Waya wallet card — there is no email matching.
  • A paid invoice at or above your minimum (15 SAR by default, adjustable from 1 to 10,000 SAR) earns one stamp on a stamp card, or on a points card, points equal to the invoice total times your points-per-SAR rate (1 by default, adjustable from 0.1 to 100), rounded down.
  • On a balance or cashback card, a paid invoice can add store credit worth a cashback percentage you set — off by default, so nothing changes for existing customers until you opt in.
  • Waya checks Daftra in the background on its own schedule; a newly paid invoice typically shows up as a stamp within minutes.

Connect Daftra to Waya in six steps

No developer and no code — the whole thing is a form. The full walkthrough with screenshots lives in the Daftra connection guide in Waya's help center; here's the shape of it.

  1. Log in to Daftra

Open your Daftra account and find your account subdomain — the part of your Daftra web address before .daftra.com.

  2. Generate a Daftra API key

Daftra issues this from inside your account settings. Copy it somewhere you can paste it into Waya next.

  3. Open Settings → Apps in Waya

This is the same screen every Premium integration connects from, Daftra included.

  4. Choose Daftra from the list of connectors

Waya shows every supported provider here; pick Daftra.

  5. Paste your subdomain and API key

Type only the subdomain itself — Waya adds the .daftra.com part for you.

  6. Pick a branch and set your minimum, then save

Choose which branch this connection applies to and set the minimum paid invoice amount (15 SAR by default) that earns a reward. Waya takes it from there.

What the Daftra integration costs

The Daftra connector is a Premium-only feature. Premium runs 149 SAR a month or 1,520 SAR a year, and once the subscription is active it unlocks unlimited customers, cards, branches, staff, and messages along with every integration Waya offers, Daftra included.

Waya's Free plan stays 0 SAR forever for up to 100 customers, and Growth runs 85 SAR a month (867 SAR a year) — both show the integrations screen as a locked preview rather than hiding it, so you can see what Premium unlocks before paying. There's no separate per-customer or per-invoice charge once you're on Premium; the 149 SAR covers every connected paid Daftra invoice, however many you process. Not listed = the vendor's own site is silent on that point; none of the six platforms below list a Daftra connector of any kind, at any price.

The limits, stated plainly

The Daftra connector is narrow on purpose — it reads one signal (paid invoices) and does one job. Know these limits before you connect.

What's different about the Daftra connector specifically

The Daftra connector has been tested end to end against a live Daftra account, and it does two things none of the other providers do.

First, when a new customer enrolls in your Waya wallet card, Waya can automatically create a matching client record in Daftra — no manual entry required on either side. Second, when a customer redeems a reward, Waya writes it back to Daftra as a credit note, so your books reflect the redemption without a manual journal entry. A custom payment method called "رصيد وايا" (Waya Balance) also appears inside Daftra, letting your cashier settle part of an invoice straight from a customer's Waya balance in one line at checkout, instead of working out a manual discount.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the Daftra integration cost?

It's included in Waya Premium — 149 SAR a month or 1,520 SAR a year, with unlimited customers, cards, branches, and staff. There's no extra per-invoice fee on top of that.

Do I need to upgrade from Free or Growth to connect Daftra?

Yes. Free (0 SAR forever, up to 100 customers) and Growth (85 SAR/month) both show the integrations screen locked — connecting Daftra, or any provider, requires an active Premium subscription.

How does Waya know which customer paid a Daftra invoice?

By phone number only — the same number the customer used to add their Waya wallet card. There's no email matching, so the number on the Daftra invoice needs to match the one on their card.

Does Waya import my past Daftra invoices?

No. Only invoices marked paid after you connect Daftra are read; nothing from your invoice history is backfilled or imported retroactively.

Can I connect Daftra if I also use a POS terminal like Foodics?

Waya does not connect to Foodics or Marn, and there's no POS terminal integration at all. The Daftra connector reads Daftra's own paid invoices regardless of what terminal produced the sale.
