The short version
Passtastic is a European wallet-loyalty platform used in 30+ countries, built for merchants who want a public API and point-of-sale integrations out of the box. As of September 2026 its pricing runs €29 to €224 a month (roughly 119 to 918 SAR at an approximate conversion), with a 14-day trial and no free tier.
Waya is built in Saudi Arabia, prices in SAR from 0 SAR forever, and leans on a notification stack — geofence and lock-screen messages — as the main retention lever rather than an API for developers to build on top of.
If your shop already runs Square or Lightspeed and you want an engineer to wire loyalty into your checkout, Passtastic is worth a serious look. If you want a working program by this afternoon in SAR with no card on file, that's Waya.
Notifications, side by side
Notifications are where a loyalty card either earns its keep or sits unused in a wallet. Here is exactly what Passtastic publishes about its own notification stack, compared field by field against what Waya publishes about ours, as of September 2026.
Prices, features, and limits change — verify anything that matters to your decision on the vendor's own site before you commit.
| Notification feature | Waya | Passtastic |
|---|---|---|
| Lock-screen push | Apple Wallet (APNs) and Google Wallet, native, no extra app | Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, wallet-push only |
| Geofence | Apple Wallet only, up to 10 branches, 50–500 m radius, zero message quota | Confirmed, radius configurable per location in meters; exact min/max bounds not published |

| Scheduled campaigns | Respect the shop's working hours — a send outside opening hours moves to the next open slot | Not found on Passtastic's public site |
| Audience targeting | Everyone, a lifecycle segment, a program, or hand-picked customers | Engagement buckets — Active, Inactive, Ready to redeem |
| Message pricing | Free 100/mo, Growth 5,000/mo, Premium unlimited; top-up 500 messages for 5 SAR | Unlimited push on every plan, no per-message fee |
| SMS / WhatsApp | None — wallet lock-screen only, no SMS, no WhatsApp | None found — wallet-push only |
Pricing, side by side
Passtastic's published tiers, compared against Waya's three plans. Where Passtastic prices outside SAR, the SAR figure is our own approximate conversion for comparison only, not a number Passtastic publishes.
| Tier | Waya | Passtastic |
|---|---|---|
| Entry | Free — 0 SAR forever, up to 100 customers, 1 card, 1 branch | Single Location — €29/mo, ≈119 SAR (1 location, 3 scanners, 2 dashboard users) |
| Mid | Growth — 85 SAR/mo or 867 SAR/yr, unlimited customers, up to 10 cards, 3 branches | Multi-Location — €74/mo, ≈303 SAR (3 locations, adds automated campaigns and API access) |
| Top | Premium — 149 SAR/mo or 1,520 SAR/yr, everything unlimited | Groups & Brands — €224/mo, ≈918 SAR (10+ locations, 30 scanners) |
Where Passtastic is the better pick
We'd rather tell you honestly where the other product wins than pretend Waya is the right fit for every shop.
- You already run Square or Lightspeed and want loyalty wired into the same checkout via a documented API
- You need a full REST API with webhooks and scoped keys — Passtastic even publishes an llms.txt file for AI coding agents to self-integrate
- You run 10+ locations under one brand and want tiered memberships (Silver/Gold/Platinum) as a built-in mechanic
- You operate outside Saudi Arabia and don't need Arabic or SAR pricing
Where Waya wins
Waya publishes exact numbers where Passtastic leaves gaps: a published geofence radius range (50–500 m) and branch cap (10), not just 'configurable in meters, exact bounds unpublished.' Our welcome, stamp, reward, and 14-day win-back triggers work from day one on every plan; Passtastic gates its comparable birthday, win-back, and milestone triggers to the Multi-Location plan and above, so a single-location merchant on Passtastic's entry tier gets only an automated birthday message.
Waya is also the only one of the two with a genuine free-forever tier — Passtastic's cheapest option is a 14-day trial, then €29/mo. And everything is priced and billed in SAR, with no currency conversion for a Saudi merchant to think about.
Waya's limits, plainly
State our limits plainly, once: Waya has no POS or till integration, so a staff member scans the customer's card on an ordinary phone; there's no SMS channel, only wallet lock-screen messages; the Android merchant app is still in closed testing, so Android staff use the web dashboard; and the Free plan stops adding new customers and messages at 100 of each, though everyone already enrolled keeps their card.
Set up your first staff account and branch before you print the QR poster, so scanning works from the first customer.
Switch to Waya in a week
None of this needs a long rollout or a signed contract to test. A single-branch shop can go from nothing to a working, free program in five to seven working days.
- Day 1: build the card
Pick stamp, points, balance, or discount, add your logo and colors, and choose the Free plan to launch at 0 SAR.
- Day 2: print the QR poster
Print the poster from the dashboard and put it where staff already hand the customer something — a receipt, keys, a bag.
- Day 3: set your branch and geofence
Add your branch address, and on Growth or above set the geofence radius separately from the address text.
- Day 4: turn on the triggers
Turn on welcome, stamp, reward, and the 14-day win-back message, writing each one before you go live.
- Days 5–7: watch enrollments
Track signups and returning customers on the dashboard, and decide whether to upgrade before you hit the 100-customer ceiling.
Frequently asked questions
Is Waya cheaper than Passtastic?
Yes, for a single branch. Waya is free forever up to 100 customers; Passtastic's cheapest tier is €29/mo (≈119 SAR) after a 14-day trial, with no free tier at all. At 3+ locations the gap narrows — Passtastic's Multi-Location plan (€74/mo, ≈303 SAR) sits between Waya's Growth (85 SAR/mo) and Premium (149 SAR/mo).
Do customers need an app?
No. A Waya card is an Apple Wallet or Google Wallet pass added in three taps — scan a QR code, type a first name and mobile number, tap once to add the pass. A device with neither wallet gets a web card at the same link instead.
What happens after 100 customers on Free?
New enrollments and new messages pause once a shop passes 100 customers or 100 messages in a month on the Free plan. Everyone already enrolled keeps their card and keeps collecting stamps or points — nothing already running breaks. Growth at 85 SAR/mo removes both ceilings.
Does Waya connect to my POS?
No. Waya has no point-of-sale or till integration — a staff member scans the customer's card on an ordinary phone, in the web dashboard or the Waya iOS app, and that scan is what counts as a visit.
Does Waya have an API like Passtastic's?
No. Passtastic publishes a full public REST API with webhooks and even an llms.txt file for AI agents; Waya doesn't offer a comparable developer API today. If a custom integration is a hard requirement, Passtastic's API-first approach is the better technical fit.
