WhatsApp Script

What WhatsApp message actually gets a car wash customer to enroll?

Three WhatsApp scripts, English and Arabic, that get a car wash customer to scan the QR and add their card.

This is a manual script, not a Waya-sent message

Waya has no WhatsApp channel of its own — there's no automated WhatsApp sending built into the platform, only wallet lock-screen messages through Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. What works instead is a short script your own staff type from the shop's personal or business WhatsApp number, pointing the customer to the enrollment QR or link.

This matters most for customers you already have a number for through a booking, a delivery follow-up, or a returning-customer conversation — it's a manual, one-to-one nudge, not a broadcast tool.

The goal of the message is narrow: get the customer to actually scan or tap the link within the next minute, while they're already looking at their phone.

Three ready scripts, for three different moments

Each is written to be typed and sent as-is, adjusted with your shop's actual name and link.

Keep it shorter than a wallet message, not longer

A WhatsApp message doesn't have the strict lock-screen character limit that wallet notifications do, but the same instinct still applies — a message a customer can read in one glance on a phone screen, without scrolling, gets tapped more often. Aim for two short sentences and one clear link, similar in spirit to keeping a wallet trigger under 100 characters.

Once the customer taps through, the actual enrollment form is short by design — a first name and mobile number on one screen, then a single tap to add the card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. On a device without either wallet, the same link opens a web card instead.

  • Keep the WhatsApp message to two short sentences plus the link, similar in spirit to a lock-screen character limit
  • Send it from a real conversation moment — after a wash, at booking, or during a natural follow-up — not as a cold blast
  • Never present this as an automated Waya message; it's a manual send from your own WhatsApp number
  • Follow up with the automatic welcome trigger once they've enrolled, so the wallet card takes over from there

Time it to a real moment, not a schedule

Because this is a manual, human-sent message, timing depends on judgment rather than automation — send it when the conversation is already happening for another reason.

  1. Wait for a natural touchpoint

    Use an already-existing WhatsApp thread — a booking, a follow-up, or a pickup confirmation.

  2. Pick the matching script

Choose the version above that fits the moment: after a wash, at booking, or for a known returning customer.

  3. Personalize lightly

Insert the shop name and the real enrollment link before sending.

  4. Send and stop there

Don't follow up multiple times if they don't respond — this is a single nudge, not a campaign.

Why this fills a real gap for a car wash

A car wash's cashier-facing enrollment moment — the QR poster at the till — misses customers who pay by app, use a drive-through lane, or simply don't linger at the register long enough to notice a poster. A WhatsApp thread that already exists for booking or payment reasons is a second, quieter path to the same enrollment.

Pairs with the counter, doesn't replace it

This WhatsApp approach works best alongside, not instead of, a QR poster at the till — the poster catches walk-ins in the moment, and the WhatsApp script catches everyone else you already have a number for. Together they cover more of your actual customer base than either alone.

Frequently asked questions

Does Waya send WhatsApp messages automatically?

No — Waya has no WhatsApp channel. Automatic notifications reach only the wallet lock screen through Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Any WhatsApp message is typed and sent manually by staff.

What should a WhatsApp sign-up message say?

Keep it to two short sentences and a link, tied to a real moment like a booking or a completed wash — for example, "Thanks for washing with us today! Tap here to add your loyalty card — wash #6 is free."

When is the best time to send this WhatsApp script?

During an already-existing conversation, such as a booking confirmation or right after a wash, rather than as a cold, unprompted message.

Should I keep sending it if the customer doesn't respond?

No — send it once as a single nudge within an existing conversation, not as a repeated campaign. Follow-up campaigns belong inside Waya's own trigger and broadcast tools instead.

Does this replace the QR poster at the counter?

No, it complements it. The poster catches in-person walk-ins, while a WhatsApp script reaches customers you already have a number for who might not notice a poster, like drive-through or app-pay customers.
