The stamp-added message is the most-read notification a car wash sends

Every other message on this page competes for attention against a dozen other notifications; the stamp-added message doesn't, because it fires seconds after the customer just interacted with the shop and it's directly relevant to something they can act on — how many washes are left until a free one.

That makes its wording worth more care than a seasonal greeting gets. It should confirm the stamp landed, say how many remain, and, once the customer is close, nudge them toward the reward rather than just reporting a number.

Three stamp-added messages, ready to send
Stamp countEnglishArabic
Early stamps (1–4 of 6)"Stamp added! 3 more washes and your next one's free.""تمت إضافة الطابع! 3 غسلات أخرى والقادمة مجانًا."
Second-to-last stamp"Stamp added — one more wash and you've earned a free one.""تمت إضافة الطابع — غسلة واحدة وتحصل على غسلة مجانية."
Final stamp"That's your 6th stamp — your free wash is ready to redeem!""هذا هو الطابع السادس — غسلتك المجانية جاهزة للاستخدام!"

Keep it short — this message is read on the way out the door

A customer sees the stamp-added notification while walking to their car, not sitting reading a menu. Anything past about 80 characters risks getting skipped entirely, since the moment of attention is brief and often interrupted by traffic or a phone call.

Lead with the confirmation, not the branding. "Stamp added" or its Arabic equivalent should be the first two or three words, so even a half-read notification tells the customer the scan worked.

Why this trigger should stay automatic, never manual

The stamp-added message is one of Waya's four automatic triggers — welcome, stamp added, reward redeemed, and 14-day win-back — and it's the one where manual sending genuinely doesn't scale. A wash doing 40 vehicles a day can't have staff typing a one-off message per scan; the automatic trigger fires the instant a staff member adds the stamp, with no extra step.

The only manual work is writing the message text once, in the dashboard's trigger settings, and updating it if the stamp threshold or reward changes. After that it runs unattended for every customer, every visit, indefinitely.

  • Stamp added → automatic trigger, fires the instant staff scan the card
  • Reward redeemed → separate automatic trigger, covered on its own page
  • Welcome on enrollment → automatic trigger, fires once per new customer
  • None of the above should ever be a manual one-off — write the text once and leave it running

Set the message up in four steps

This is a one-time setup per card, not a recurring task.

  1. Step 1: open the triggers screen

Find the stamp-added trigger in the card's automatic message settings.

  2. Step 2: write a version that scales to the last stamp

Either write one generic message ("stamp added, X to go") or three variants for early, near, and final stamps.

  3. Step 3: match the language to your customer base

Pick Arabic, English, or run both if the dashboard supports per-customer language.

  4. Step 4: test it on your own card

Enroll a test card, scan it, and confirm the wallet notification lands correctly before relying on it with real customers.

It doesn't touch the message balance the way a campaign does

Automatic triggers still draw from the same monthly message balance as broadcasts and scheduled campaigns — Free's 100 a month, Growth's 5,000, Premium's unlimited — so a wash doing 40 vehicles a day and stamping most of them can burn through the Free allowance on stamp-added messages alone within a few weeks.

That's usually the first sign a shop needs Growth: not a marketing campaign running out of room, but the everyday stamp-added trigger hitting the 100-message ceiling before the month is halfway done.

Geofence doesn't replace this trigger — it complements it

Geofence messages fire when a phone is near the branch, not when a stamp is added, so the two serve different moments: geofence brings a driver in, the stamp-added trigger confirms what happened once they're there. A shop should run both rather than treating geofence as a substitute for confirming the scan.

Geofence is Apple Wallet only, covers up to 10 branches at a 50–500 meter radius, and costs zero message quota — worth turning on separately from the stamp-added trigger, not instead of it.

What has to happen manually before this trigger can fire

The stamp-added message only fires after a human adds the stamp — Waya has no POS or till integration, so a staff member scans the customer's card on an ordinary phone at the end of the wash. If the scan doesn't happen, the message doesn't either, which is why scanning discipline matters more than message wording for a program's overall success.

There's no SMS fallback if a customer's phone is offline when the trigger fires — the wallet pass updates the next time it syncs, which is normally within moments on a connected phone.

Frequently asked questions

What should the stamp-added message say at a car wash?

Confirm the stamp first, then say how many washes remain: "Stamp added! 3 more washes and your next one's free." Keep it under about 80 characters since it's read quickly, often while walking to the car.

Should the stamp-added trigger be automatic or manual?

Automatic, always. It's one of Waya's four built-in triggers, firing the instant staff scan a card. Writing a one-off manual message per visit doesn't scale past a handful of customers a day.

Does the stamp-added message count against the monthly message balance?

Yes. Automatic triggers draw from the same balance as campaigns — 100 messages a month on Free, 5,000 on Growth, unlimited on Premium — so a busy wash can hit its Free ceiling from stamp-added messages alone.

Can the stamp-added message change wording near the final stamp?

Some shops write a single generic message and others write a variant for the final stamp specifically, calling out that the reward is ready to redeem. Either approach works; the final-stamp version tends to prompt faster redemption.

Does the till add the stamp automatically at a car wash?

No. Waya has no POS or till integration, so a staff member scans the customer's card on an ordinary phone after the wash, which is also what triggers the automatic message.
